When I was starting my internet business I came across a few affiliate marketing for beginners plans that, quite literally promised the earth. All you had to do was find a super high payout affiliate programme, join it and “grab your share of the profits”. Sounds great to a beginner but now I have the experience to look at these offers and shake my head.
Lets cut to the chase here. Affiliate marketing is not the easy, no effort, put your feet up and watch the profits roll in method to earn money online, no matter what you read about the top performing affiliate programmes. With the vast majority of affiliate programmes you will earn little if nothing if you put little or hardly any effort into it and probably that same amounts if you do make some effort. Why is that? I am going to lay it on the line here and tell you what not to do for your internet business start up. It is better to hear what not to do before you start on a path that will take some time, perhaps some money and in effect lead nowhere. There is a correct way to build an internet business and alot of other ways that may appear attractive or the elixir for this and that…
But these methods almost always end up delivering absolutely nothing. Then those new to internet marketing claim ”it does not work”, or “it is a scam and a complete waste of time” and “those that claim to make lots of money are liars”. What I want to do is highlight what you should avoid as you will not achieve your goals spending time on them. Read More→
I was talking with someone about the benefits of blogging for an internet business or a traditional business that wants some internet exposure. I think I convinced him the merits of starting a blog even if you have little or no experience of the internet as a means of providing information to a particular market.
I identified five benefits that made him think that it really is not the sole teritory of the computer geek…but anyone who has a business and wants a web presence without the “hassle” of having to get a website up and running. The technology makes it incredibly simple to manage and the search engines love them due to being content driven and updated on a regular basis. Read More→
One of the best ways to know how to develop your online business niche idea is to sit down with a pen and paper and write. What you are going to write will form the basis of the content that you are going to create. And as the easiest way to start your information marketing business is to involve yourself in a niche topic that you have an interest or passion in, this exercise will be quite easy to do.
Emmerse yourself in the topic and position yourself as someone who maybe new to it or has some knowledge and wants to progress further. In that position, what is it that they are feeling, what challenges are they facing? By answering the following questions, you will be able to provide what the niche wants, the way they want it and the language and style they want it in. Read More→
Here is a checklist to ensure you avoid five online video marketing mistakes that can be easily made and if guilty, can render your efforts redundant. Whilst the planning, shooting and editing your online video may take up most of the time, make sure you dedicate enough time to get the little things right.
So for all future videos to be uploaded to YouTube (and why not take a look at your existing ones to ensure that you haven’t made any of these mistakes) be sure to tick off that you have avoided the following online video marketing mistakes:
Not Including Links
The purpose of the video is to generate targeted traffic back to your website or blog. Therefore there has to be a clickable link back to it. In the description of the video, ensure you put in the link right at the start of the description before you write anything.
Not Making Your Links Clickable
Do not forget to put the ”http” as part of your url or it won’t be clickable.
It does happen and if you spell your top keyword wrong, which you must include in the early part of your description then you will be missing out on some valuable seo juice.
Don’t ever forget to put in the tags. These are your top performing keywords that are related to the video that you have just posted. Don’t just fill it will a great list of all the keywords you can think of, just use derivatives of the keyword or phrase you are targeting. Google will then use these to help it list the video correctly.
Either the title is left blank whereby Google will not be able to index it properly and your video is thus wasted or the title does not contain the keyword and subject that your video focuses on.
So go and check now that any video you have posted does not fall down due to one of these errors. And if you are not doing online video marketing… why not? Did you know that YouTube is fast becoming the number one option for searching for information? People want answers and they want them fast…perhaps too lazy to read the results in Google, they go straight to YouTube and wish to be shown the answer.
If you are not doing online video marketing and would like to be shown how in easy step by step parts, then I can wholly recommend Neil Traver’s Video Profit Secrets . I have used it to learn about how to use video as part of my online marketing. Go now to how to make an online marketing video

If you are seeking to start a work from internet business or are in the early days then a dose of realism will do you a power of good. The business of niche information marketing does offer reward but to enjoy this, there is required an acceptance that you have to focus, take action and persevere through periods that can be challenging.
As a first step you need to approach building a work from home internet business assuming that you can do it, and being determined that you will find a way even if you know that it may not be entirely straightforward. You will be aware that I bang on about using articles for how to get website traffic on a consistent basis and I thought that in this blog post I would go behind the scenes and explain the not obvious reason why it so so important to keep writing those unique quality articles.
I churn them out on a regular basis, in a perfect world it would be eight per month in my main niches that I market to but there are only so many hours in a day. If I can get around 4 – 6 per month in these niches then it adds a great deal of marketing oomph to the websites. Here is how… Read More→
There are times when even the most successful internet business owners hit a brick wall. And that means those of us who are yet to reach the hallowed halls of the “internet marketing gods” should not be put off or drop everything and forget about it when we encounter a sticky period. That can be when sign ups to the email lists are slow and products are not exactly flying off the shelf.
When these challenging times happen it is all to easy to lay the project to one side and move onto the next. But you have two choices. Do just that or channel your efforts to ensuring that you are getting the basics right.
What are the basics? Well, I do not have to tell you that you must have done the required amount of research. And I am not just talking about the size of the market, the keywords used, what competition is out there that you are up against. What I am talking about is the question of do you really know your audience? Read More→
